Golf

Imagine playing a golf course with sea views from almost any hole for $60 kiwi for 18 holes ($30 USA). The course is about a 90 minute drive from Headlands. We were playing in a 9 hole tournament and the three of us in the photo won prizes. We were so surprised as the course is longer than most of our home courses. From left to right, Kathryn, Wende and Bee. Order of wins: Wende, Kathryn, Bee.

Reward for working

While working in the gardens this morning, this most beautiful New Zealand wood pigeon dropped into the tree above my head. (S)he stayed there patiently while I went to the house for my camera. She also hopped around the branches to improve the lighting for this photo. (S)he and her mates have cleaned my fig tree absolutely clean, so maybe she was just saying thanks for the feeds.

The wind is howling

Gale force winds are lashing Northland today, creating a dramatic sea. Major had a sniff outside on the deck and quickly came inside to go to sleep. Libby, the pet sea gull, prefers the deck to the stormy shore.

Dad's visit

Another healthy Monarch ready to take flight.
Friends gather for drinks and nibles.
Washing Casey on a very hot day.
Draining the pressure tank on the farm water pump.
Major on the right playing tug-of-war with friends Jaz and Hector.
A beautiful day at Headlands.
Dad is home safely from his three week visit. Above are some of his photos and a few of mine from our time together, both at play and at work.
