While working in the gardens this morning, this most beautiful New Zealand wood pigeon dropped into the tree above my head. (S)he stayed there patiently while I went to the house for my camera. She also hopped around the branches to improve the lighting for this photo. (S)he and her mates have cleaned my fig tree absolutely clean, so maybe she was just saying thanks for the feeds.

Reward for working

What a beautiful bird! You look wonderful in your other pictures. Looks like life is going good down there. :-) Major seems to being doing great too. Cord and I haven't forgotten about meeting up with you in May. It is coming so fast! We are thinking about the weekend of the 22nd? We will probably fly up and rent a truck to drive back.
